Marlon Wayans Introduces First Trailer For A Haunted House

With Scary Movie 5 set for an April 12th, 2013 release date, original creator Marlon Wayans is looking to beat the ongoing "horror-comedy" franchise to the punch with his newest spoof comedic effort titled A Haunted House, set for release January 11th, 2013. Wayans' film will be parodying the "found footage" and "documentary" style filmmaking we've seen so much of lately, focusing on movies like Paranormal Activity and The Devil Inside.

With Scary Movie 5 set for an April 12th, 2013 release date, original creator Marlon Wayans is looking to beat the ongoing “horror-comedy” franchise to the punch with his newest spoof comedic effort titled A Haunted House, set for release January 11th, 2013.

Wayans’ film will be parodying the “found footage” and “documentary” style filmmaking we’ve seen so much of lately, focusing on movies like Paranormal Activity and The Devil Inside.

Let’s not forget Marlon was a major player in the first Scary Movie film, which is easily the best and most focused film in the ongoing franchise, so there is a glimmer of hope A Haunted House might not be all recycled garbage. Then again, judging by this trailer, we can clearly see who was behind all the immature potty humor from the Scary Movie films.

A Haunted House looks like nothing more than a slew of fart jokes and obvious sight gags stitched together with memorable moments from past “found footage” films being spoofed.  At least Marlon has created a “horror-comedy” which actually pokes fun at horror movies themselves, unlike the Scary Movie franchise which has veered off course and apparently has more fun just making cheap pop-culture references the whole time.

A Haunted House stars Marlon Wayans, Essence Atkins, Nick Swardson, Cedric The Entertainer, and David Koechner, hopefully entertaining viewers early next year.

Don’t just listen to me though. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you think A Haunted House has the potential to one-up Scary Movie 5!
