Could Marvel Debut The Avengers: Infinity War Trailer This Week?

Ah, the Avengers: Infinity War trailer. At this point, it's almost the stuff of legend, with seemingly each new week bringing with it a proposed date for when we may see it, only to have that date come and go with nothing popping up. Now, with Thor: Ragnarok quickly approaching, it would seem that Marvel has the perfect opportunity to bring us our first look at Joe and Anthony Russo's upcoming superhero extravaganza and if a user on Reddit is to believed, the studio will be doing just that.

At this point, it’s almost the stuff of legend, with seemingly each new week bringing with it a proposed date for when we may see it, only to have that date come and go with nothing popping up. Now, with Thor: Ragnarok quickly approaching, it would seem that Marvel has the perfect opportunity to bring us our first look at Joe and Anthony Russo’s upcoming superhero extravaganza and if a user on Reddit is to believed, the studio will be doing just that.

Chalk this up as speculation for now, but using what’s been deemed as the Marvel formula and looking at when the trailers for previous Avengers films were released, it appears as if we could be getting our first bit of footage from Infinity War this week, which is also when Ragnarok hits theaters across the sea.

Take a look at the dates of when the previous trailers dropped and you’ll see what we mean.

By this logic, Marvel should be releasing the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer on October 24th, or around there. Then again, it’s important to note that there’s a few problems with this theory. For one, in the case of both The Avengers and Age of Ultron, the studio had no other films on the way. With the Russo’s aforementioned flick, however, they’ve got both Ragnarok and Black Panther to push into theaters before we get to see Infinity War.

The other thing, too, is that some people are pointing out that Marvel may actually wait until after the US release of Ragnarok (November 3rd) to drop the trailer, since it could potentially spoil some of the events in Thor’s much anticipated threequel. Not to mention that there’s also The Punisher (November 17th) to consider, which may have some impact on the studio’s decision here, too.

After all, Frank Castle hits Netflix the same day as the Justice League storm into theaters, and wouldn’t that be something if Marvel decided to steal DC’s thunder even more by giving us the first Avengers: Infinity War preview at that point. You have to admit, it’d be a pretty clever move on their part, right?

Enough with the speculation, though. Kevin Feige has already told us that the trailer will be here by the year’s end, and with only a few more months to go before 2017 comes to a close, you’ve gotta believe it’ll surface sooner rather than later. As always, watch this space for more.
