It’s hard to believe, but in just a few short months Avengers: Age of Ultron will be upon us. Joss Whedon’s follow-up to his massive 2012 hit is easily one of the most anticipated films of the year, and as we draw closer to its release, Marvel continues to crank out the marketing material.

Today brings with it 16 new stills from the upcoming sequel, showing off the titular heroes along with some behind-the-scenes shots of Whedon directing his cast. It’s a nice mix of images that only serves to heighten anticipation for what will no doubt be another exciting blockbuster effort from the studio who can seem to do no wrong at this point.

Personally, I’m most looking forward to seeing sibling duo Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in action, but there’s a lot to get excited about here. After all, this is the film that’s likely going to set into motion many of the events that we’ll be seeing in phase 3, so it’s definitely going to be an important part of the puzzle and one that’s worth paying close attention to.

Avengers: Age of Ultron storms into theatres on May 1st, 2015. Check out the gallery of images below and let us know if you’re as eager as we are to see the film.
