Marvel Expected To Announce Black Panther 2 This Month

According to tipster Grace Randolph, Marvel is expected to officially announce Black Panther 2 at some point this month.

Without a doubt, it’s been an epoch-making year at the box office for the highest grossing film franchise of all-time, which you might know better as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Highlighted by an incredible run at the ticket booth, 2018 saw Avengers: Infinity War become only the fourth motion picture ever to conquer the $2 billion plateau. Before that, though, it wasn’t the culmination of a decade-long effort to unite Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the big screen doing most of the damage.

A few weeks back, Black Panther surpassed $700 million at the domestic box office, making the Ryan Coogler-directed feature the third film ever to top that mark, behind only Avatar ($760M) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936M). And though the domestic theatrical run for T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and company, which began way back on February 16th and resulted in a massive $1.34 billion global haul is over, there’s still much to look forward to.

Despite being turned to dust at the end of Infinity War, the ruler of Wakanda will somehow return to life in time for next year’s Avengers 4 as well as his very own sequel, Black Panther 2. Though it’s yet to be officially announced, Grace Randolph is strongly hinting on Twitter that Marvel will confirm things this month, announcing the film and presumably, a title to go along with it.

Unfortunately, the tipster wouldn’t share much more than that, as she’s “been sworn to secrecy,” but it’s no secret that the studio’s busy making plans for T’Challa’s next solo outing and though an announcement pre-Avengers 4 would be a bit surprising, it’s certainly possible. What’s also possible is Randolph’s other scoop, which says that the first Captain Marvel trailer will arrive this month, too.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Kevin Feige and co., but as we said, it’s all plausible and with any luck, September will shape up to be a month to remember for fans of both Black Panther and an Air Force pilot who goes by the name of Carol Danvers.
