Marvel Fan Discovers Cool Easter Egg Hidden On Black Panther’s Suit
It seems the Queen Mother of Wakanda was given a very subtle shoutout during Marvel’s Black Panther.
Despite releasing a full seven months ago, comic book movie fans continue to uncover secrets and Easter eggs from Ryan Coogler’s billion-dollar hit, and the latest is an incredibly clever reference to Angela Bassett’s Queen Ramonda.
Though she isn’t given an awful lot of screentime during Black Panther, let it be known that Bassett’s regal character still attracts nothing but adoration from her loving children, as below you’ll see that Shuri has managed to stitch the words “I love you, mom” into her brother’s vibranium-laced suit. And don’t worry if you didn’t catch it the first time around – it’s written in Wakandan.
In Black Panther, when T’Challa strikes the new Panther Habit suit to test its kinetic energy storage, some glowing Wakandan text appears on the torso. If you translate one chunk of this text, it actually says, “I Love You, Mom.”
Pretty cool, huh? It’s likely a message from Ryan Coogler to his own mother, but we can’t be too sure. Either way, this Black Panther suit is built in such a way that it’s able to absorb kinetic energy and redistribute it as T’Challa sees fit, which comes in pretty damn handy during Black Panther‘s finale and Avengers: Infinity War.
Alas, even all the world’s vibranium couldn’t stop Thanos, who managed to cripple Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and reduce their numbers quite drastically – by 50 percent, in fact – thereby leaving the fate of Black Panther et. al up in the air as we approach Avengers 4. Still no word of a title for Marvel’s 2019 epic, but there’ve been rumblings of the first teaser trailer being released online sometime in November.
