Marvel Won’t Announce Avengers 4’s Title Until The End Of The Year

Looks like we'll be seeing the first Captain Marvel teaser trailer before Kevin Feige and Co. announce the Avengers 4 title.

On the eve of Ant-Man and the Wasp, comic book fans have been poring over just one question when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: what comes first, the Captain Marvel teaser trailer, or the day when Kevin Feige and Co. officially announce Avengers 4‘s top-secret title?

Turns out it’s actually the former, after Feige revealed to Collider that Marvel currently has no plans to reveal the Avengers 4 title until the “end of the year,” by which point the studio’s main focus will be Carol Danvers and her long-gestating standalone movie.

And so, when asked straight-up about the radio silence that’s engulfed Avengers 4 and, more specifically, its mystery moniker, Marvel’s head honcho called for a little more patience, stating:

That’ll be after the Captain Marvel teaser probably, announcing that title. It’ll be towards the end of the year with however we launch that film.

Truth be told, Kevin Feige has been soliciting questions about the Avengers 4 title reveal since as far back as April 2017, when the executive warned curious viewers that the title itself was a massive spoiler for Infinity War.

That’s no longer the case, after Feige admitted that this ongoing saga has completely blown out of proportion, leading to all sorts of weird and wonderful theories about the inevitable announcement. Fallen Heroes, Disassembled and Endgame are three possible candidates that have since been ruled out, so at least for now, the guessing game continues. And it’ll span right through until December, if Kevin Feige is to be believed.

At least we can take solace in the fact that Captain Marvel‘s first teaser trailer ought to be with us sooner rather than later, though.
