Every Marvel Movie That’ll Be Available On Disney Plus At Launch

Even though its debut is still a few months away, superhero fans from all over have been eagerly anticipating the launch of Disney Plus, the brand new streaming service that’s set to compete with the likes of Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. While those three platforms, in particular, grant users access to thousands upon thousands of movies - with some dating back over 75 years - Disney’s upcoming service is going to offer almost every major film from the company’s rich history, which includes the likes of Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel.

The thing is, if you were hoping to embark on a two-day binge-fest and watch every single MCU film in existence, you might want to taper your expectations a little. You see, while Disney Plus will boast a rather sizable catalog on its first day (with over 300 movies), it won’t have every single film in the company’s vault. As CNET reports, the platform will slowly expand its collection over time and seeks to offer 500 flicks and 7,500 episodes of TV in its first year.

So, which MCU films are going to be available at launch? Well, surprisingly, only four – Iron Man, Iron Man 3Thor: The Dark World and Captain Marvel. The reason for the rather paltry offering seems to be tied to other licensing deals.

For the past couple of years, a lot of MCU movies have been streaming on Netflix, and it looks like at least eight will be making their way to Disney Plus during the first year of service – Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Endgame (coming in December)Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man 2 and Thor: Ragnarok.

That being said, it’s likely other films will be flocking to Disney Plus in due time, though it’s a little unclear if Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming is going to make the jump, seeing as how it streams on Starz. That being said, it looks like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is premiering in 2020, so at the very least, there will still be fresh MCU content to enjoy.
