Marvel Reportedly Eyeing John Krasinski And Emily Blunt For Fantastic Four

Source close to the studio say that Marvel is eyeing John Krasinski and Emily Blunt for their upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.

John Krasinski has done a terrific job rebranding himself as of late. Usually cast as the strong silent type, he gave new meaning to the label, quite literally, thanks to his impressive role in A Quiet Place. Having grossed a massive $340 million at the worldwide box office, and sitting at a pretty 95% certified fresh score on the Tomatometer, the mostly silent horror film – in which Krasinski starred, directed and co-wrote the script for – has well and truly launched him onto the A-list.

Now, with the actor finding himself up for all sorts of high-profile roles, it would appear that the sky is indeed the limit for John Krasinski. And seeing as superhero-dom is the flavor of the moment, what better place for him to take his talents next than to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

In particular, we love the idea of Krasinski as Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, and it seems like Kevin Feige is into it, too. Though the studio’s keeping quiet on their plans for the superhero team, a Tweet from Geeks WorldWide’s Thomas Polito has hinted that both Krasinski and Emily Blunt are being eyed for the film, with the latter wanted for the part of Sue Storm.

Speaking to our own sources, We Got This Covered has confirmed that this is indeed the case. Though apparently, they’re just two of many actors who are being considered and at this early, early stage, there’s no guarantee that they’ll end up in the Fantastic Four reboot. That being said, it’s hard to think of two better choices for Reed Richards and Sue Storm than John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.

Aside from their on-screen charisma and their tried-and-tested mettle as action heroes (see: Jack Ryan and Edge of Tomorrow, respectively), they’d also have some genuine chemistry given that they’re married in real life. After all, both the 2005 and 2015 efforts failed in serving up a believable Richards/Storm romance, so Krasinski and Blunt could definitely fix that.

Still, as we said above, it’s a bit early to get excited about this as Marvel hasn’t even officially announced the project. Make no mistake, though, the Fantastic Four are headed back to the big screen in the near future and with any luck, it’ll be with John Krasinski and Emily Blunt leading the way.
