Though Charles Xavier and his merry band of mutants still have at least one more adventure to look forward to thanks to Dark Phoenix, folks are already starting to find themselves getting excited for the fresh start for the X-Men saga that the Disney/Fox merger will bring about. X-Force, on the other hand, is still up in the air, while the Deadpool series is expected to continue on in some shape or form under the Mouse House.

In fact, Disney has said on a few occasions now that they have no intention of watering down the Merc with a Mouth. After all, Wade Wilson was recently given the PG-13 treatment with Once Upon a Deadpool, and the frosty reception to the Deadpool 2 re-release showed everyone that it’s not in the studio’s best interest to turn DP into a family-friendly hero. Thankfully, then, they certainly aren’t planning on doing so.

Sources close to We Got This Covered have confirmed that even once the Disney/Fox deal goes through, Kevin Feige and the folks at Marvel Studios want to continue producing solo films for Deadpool. And yes, they’ll remain R-rated. We’re also hearing he could appear in some of their PG-13 movies, too, but fans can at least rest assured knowing that for his standalone outings, the Merc will stay raunchy and not have to filter what he says.

With that in mind, things are looking pretty promising for Deadpool 3, with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick even revealing the other month that they’re currently working on some ideas for the film with Ryan Reynolds. We haven’t had too many tangible updates since then, but with confirmation that Deadpool will stay in the R-rated realm when it comes to his own franchise, fans can rest easy knowing they have nothing to worry about once the merger goes through.
