Like Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme is seen falling through Marvel’s multiverse in the mind-bending new IMAX promo for Doctor Strange. The first spoiler-free reactions have also emerged, which you can find below. Just keep in mind that these are pulled from a 15 minute preview of the finished product.

Now that Scott Derrickson’s standalone pic is little less than a month away, Marvel’s marketing campaign is really beginning to fire on all cylinders – both in this dimension and beyond – as the studio angles to ensure that by the time Derrickson’s effects-laden blockbuster lands in theaters, Doctor Strange will be on the cusp of becoming a household name. It was a similar hurdle that the Guardians of the Galaxy were left facing two years ago, although comparisons to James Gunn’s spacefaring hit only offer so much, given that Derrickson, Kevin Feige and all involved in Strange are gunning for a dazzling new experience.

That’s something that truly shines through via today’s all-new featurette, which features Feige gushing about how the VFX team have been able to recreate some of the more bizarre comic book moments for the moviegoing masses. However Doctor Strange fares in the storytelling department, one thing’s for sure: we’re in for a spectacle on November 4.

But Benedict Cumberbatch’s tenure as Marvel’s magician in training will stretch far beyond 2016. As yesterday’s promo teased, he’ll soon be joining the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in time for Avengers: Infinity War. That’ll land in 2018. Up first though, those knee-jerk reactions coming out of the London preview.
