Avengers 4

There’s Only One MCU Hero Who’s Yet To Kill Someone

Based on a new observation, there's only one MCU hero who's yet to kill someone (on or off screen) and we'll give you a clue: she was wings.

For the past 10 years, Marvel Studios has enthralled moviegoers with its big-budget adventures and tales of heroism.

From Iron Man to Ant-Man, Thor to Guardians of the Galaxy, there’s not a single MCU movie that’s ostensibly bad (okay, maybe The Dark World), which is really a credit to the creative team at Marvel HQ.

And yet, for all of their save-the-world heroics, it’s fair to say that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and their allies cause a lot of collateral damage, resulting in a high body count coming out of the Battle of New York and the gripping finale of Age of Ultron – a finale so devastating it led to the creation of the Sokovia Accords, which help keep our heroes in check while they’re out there battling aliens and generally protecting Earth from harm.

But sometimes things don’t go exactly as according to plan. To prove it, one particularly observant Redditor has produced a Google Doc (“Project M”) that tracks all of the MCU’s leading characters and their respective kill count. And it seems there’s only one hero who’s yet to spill any blood.

We’ll give you a clue: she has wings. Yes, based on this incredibly thorough research, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) is the only character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe who is yet to kill someone, which is a combination of two things, really.

First, she’s only appeared in two MCU films thus far, and it was only when Ant-Man and the Wasp rolled around last month that her character was thrust into the middle of the action. And lastly, Hope Van Dyne isn’t the most malicious Marvel crusader. She isn’t reckless like Tony Stark or guilty of losing her temper like the Hulk; all things considered, the Wasp is the most innocent one of the lot.

She’ll be back on her screens next year for the so-far untitled Avengers 4. But the question, really, is whether she’ll be able to maintain her clean slate. Time will tell.
