Meet The Rebellion’s New Heroes In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Character Posters

We're now just one month away from the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and with anticipation for the film at an all-time high, a new batch of Japanese character posters have found their way online. They don't reveal a whole lot though, instead putting the spotlight on the team of heroes who will assemble to try and steal the plans of the Death Star from the Empire. If you've seen A New Hope (which, let's face it, you definitely have), you'll know that they succeed, but that doesn't exactly spoil the plot of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

We’re now just one month away from the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and with anticipation for the film at an all-time high, a new batch of Japanese character posters have found their way online. They don’t reveal a whole lot though, instead putting the spotlight on the team of heroes who will assemble to try and steal the plans of the Death Star from the Empire. If you’ve seen A New Hope (which, let’s face it, you definitely have), you’ll know that they succeed, but that doesn’t exactly spoil the plot of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

After all, we have no idea what happens to this lot after their mission ends or how they’ll factor into the larger Star Wars universe. It’s entirely possible that any one of these heroes will sport a familiar surname which could end up tying into the events of the current trilogy, which kicked off with last year’s The Force Awakens.

Regardless of its ties to other entries in the franchise, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is going to be a big test for Disney and Lucasfilm, as it’s their first Anthology movie. The next is the Han Solo spinoff, but they definitely need this one to succeed if they’re planning to continue releasing them every other year between new episodes.

Take a look at the new character posters in the gallery below and let us know if you think Gareth Edwards’ entry into the franchise will be a hit when it arrives next month by dropping us a comment.
