Leading that cast is Ender’s Game star Asa Butterfield as Jake, a teenager struggling with a recent tragedy who comes across the titular abode and becomes enchanted by its otherworldly possibilities. The home is managed by Eva Green’s Miss Peregrine, who in a Professor X kind of way, takes care of a host of ‘peculiars’ all of whom exhibit strange and wonderful abilities.

From the one-sheet posters and that first tantalizing teaser, there’s no mistaking that this is Burton in his element. Bringing together those hints of the supernatural, fantasy and a smidgen of horror is Kick-Ass scribe Jane Goldman, who penned the screenplay.
