After two zany poster reveals, we finally got the first full-blown trailer on the 7th and let’s just say it was worth the wait. Though the Merc With a Mouth threatened to hog the limelight with his makeshift toy show, Fox’s preview was really all about Cable (AKA Nathan Summers), the one-eyed bandit who will be making his screen debut alongside fellow mutant, Domino (Zazie Beetz), later this year.

Beyond that, though, we also saw a rapid-fire smorgasbord of memorable scenes – including new looks at Weasel, a souped-up Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Vanessa/Copycat) and Dopinder, Wade’s taxi driver and unlikely ally. It all made for a truly exciting preview and now, the marketing campaign continues – this time, with a cheeky theater standee that you can see in the gallery down below.

Sure, it’s not much, but those who remember Wade’s “special relationship” with his stuffed unicorn will surely get a laugh out of this. Not to mention that it indicates the magical creature will be returning for the sequel, and we can’t wait to see how it plays into things this time around.

Said to be bracing for some last-minute reshootsDeadpool 2 is still on course for a release on May 18th, when it’ll be bookended by Infinity War (May 4th) and Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th). No pressure, then.

Rumor has it that 20th Century Fox plans to release the sequel as Deadpool: The Second Coming, too, though we’ve yet to hear any update on that front just yet. Be that as it may, we will continue to keep you right up-to-date as the Merc’s second adventure inches ever closer.
