Here’s How Michael Fassbender Could Look As Reverse-Flash

Ezra Miller's Scarlet Speedster is due his own solo movie at some point on the big screen. And when The Flash film does eventually materialize, there's obviously one villain that fans want to see face off against Barry Allen more than any other: his nemesis Eobard Thawne AKA Reverse-Flash. The character's been played by Tom Cavanagh and Matt Letscher on TV, but who could portray the evil speedster on the big screen?

Well, fans have got creative over the past few years and created art imagining their personal picks for Reverse-Flash. Just a few that’ve been suggested as perfect candidates to date include Dexter‘s Michael C. HallX-Men: First Class‘ Kevin Bacon and Legion’s Dan Stevens. Now, Reddit user Smileysyklops has put forward their choice in the form of another X-Men star, Michael Fassbender, and here’s a rendition of what the German-Irish actor could look like as Thawne.

Of course, Fassbender already plays an iconic supervillain in the form of the X-Men franchise’s Magneto. That said, it’s widely assumed that Dark Phoenix will be the last entry in Fox’s X-universe before it’s rebooted under Marvel Studios, so maybe he’ll fancy switching sides and becoming part of the DC universe. Well, technically he already is thanks to his part in 2010’s Jonah Hex, but we like to pretend that movie never happened.

When can we expect to see Reverse-Flash on the silver screen, though? Well, we’ve got some conflicting information of late so it’s hard to say. In August 2018, we heard that production was expected to begin in February this year. Then, in November, Miller hyped things up by claiming that the movie will be “crazy dope.” Later that very month, however, a rumor stated that The Flash and Man of Steel 2 had lost momentum over at Warner Bros.

When a clearer picture of The Flash‘s future emerges, we’ll be sure to let you know. In the meantime though, tell us, who would be your personal pick for Reverse-Flash?
