It may not have been Marvel’s biggest or most popular film, but Ant-Man still made a pretty sizeable dent at the box office for the studio and seemed to resonate fairly well with fans. As such, it’s no surprise that we’re getting another solo outing for the pint-sized hero, titled Ant-Man And The Wasp.
With all eyes placed squarely on Doctor Strange and Thor: Ragnarok at the moment, we haven’t heard too much about Scott Lang’s next adventure just yet, but THR is bringing to light some casting news today, revealing that Michael Pena will be back to reprise his role of Luis – which should most definitely please fans.
With production set to get underway next year, the cast will likely start falling into place shortly. We already know both Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will be back, and Michael Douglas is expected to return as well. With Pena now on board, too, that makes for a solid group of familiar faces.
As for the new talent, well, it’s still far too early for that. Rest assured though that Marvel will be drafting in some exciting names to feature in the sequel alongside the returning cast. After all, it seems that every big name actor is lining up for a role in the MCU, and given that Ant-Man was fairly successful, you can bet that Marvel is planning to go big for the sequel.
Ant Man and The Wasp flies into theatres on July 6th, 2018 with Peyton Reed back at the helm.
