Michel Hazanavicius To Direct Zach Galifianakis And Paul Rudd In Will

Will is a project that's been around for several years now and somehow, still hasn't been made. Based on Demetri Martin's 2007 Black List script, the film revolves around a man on Earth whose life is written by a guardian angel who watches over him from above. Currently, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are on board as producers, and Paul Rudd and Zach Galifianakis are in the lead roles. All the project needs to get off the ground is a director and now, one has been found.

Variety is reporting that Oscar-winner Michel Hazanavicius is set to helm Will and plans to start shooting the film by the end of the year. Apparently, Paramount wants to get moving on this one quickly and we expect the rest of the cast to fill out over the next little while.

Will will mark the director’s first Hollywood effort, and having enjoyed what he did with The Artist (despite the fact that I think it was a bit overrated), I’m curious to see how Hazanavicius handles a big studio comedy like this. He’s not the most likely choice of directors for what seems like a comedic powerhouse of a film, but hopefully he’ll surprise us and deliver on what seems like a pretty promising project so far.

Tell us, are you excited to hear that Michel Hazanavicius will be making his Hollywood debut with Will? Sound off below!
