Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. is in talks with Michelle MacLaren to direct the upcoming Wonder Woman film, which will star Gal Gadot in the titular role.

Though she doesn’t have any feature films under her belt, MacLaren is an accomplished television director. Having given us terrific episodes of shows like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead, we can rest assured that Wonder Woman’s solo effort will be in capable hands. The director has shown us time and time again through her TV work that she has a flair for the cinematic, and I have no doubt that she could handle a big budget production like Wonder Woman.

While MacLaren isn’t confirmed just yet for the gig, she is said to be the frontrunner, as well as a fan favorite, so I’d expect confirmation on her involvement in the very near future.

No plot details have been revealed yet for Wonder Woman, but the pic is expected to drop on June 23rd, 2017. We’ll keep you posted when we hear more. In the meantime, head on down to the comments and let us know what you think of Michelle MacLaren sitting in the director’s chair.
