‘Mission: Impossible 7’ gets rave reviews, so the conversation naturally turns to Zack Snyder

The Snyder cult is a parody of itself at this point.

To say that Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is flying high with critics just might be the understatement of the year; after 114 reviews, the seventh entry in the illustrious action franchise is sitting at a whopping 98 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is exactly the sort of start you want as you seek to dominate the box office in a month full of blockbusters.

In the film, Tom Cruise steps back into the shoes of protagonist Ethan Hunt as antagonistic forces past and present threaten to devastate the world and his IMF family irreparably.

We also know that the earth-shattering weapon he and the gang will be hunting down happens to be a form of AI, which is not only a timely nuance, but a poetic one, seeing as there’s a good-to-fair chance that many Zack Snyder fan accounts are also run by AI — it’s the only explanation for how the following leap in logic managed to sprout from the depths of Twitter.

I’m going to be straight with you all, I don’t have the energy to further break down the randomly-capitalized neuroticism at play here. Let’s all just be happy that we have what’s apparently a top-notch blockbuster on the way and leave it at that.

Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One drops into theaters on July 12.
