The speculation train regarding X-23 and her possible role in The Wolverine 3 rolls on full steam ahead today, with even more evidence pointing towards the iconic character showing up in Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolvie on the big screen.
It all started yesterday with some new set photos that featured a mysterious young girl, who many suspected to be the aforementioned X-23. Fuel was added to the burning hot fire just mere hours ago when we heard from That Hashtag Show about a casting breakdown for a character going under the code name “Zoe.” From what was being described, it was fairly obvious that “Zoe” was likely X-23 and now, we’ve got yet another piece of the puzzle.
More set photos, which can be seen below, have been uncovered and once again, they feature the same little girl. It’s clear to see here that she looks quite young, almost too young to be X-23, but then again, these shots could be from a flashback scene of some sort. If the character is being introduced in the film, then there will likely be some kind of origins sequence to go along with her introduction, and perhaps that’s the scene being shot in these set photos.
Whatever the case may be, after all that we’ve seen and heard, we’d be shocked if X-23 doesn’t end up in the film. How she’ll factor into the story is another question entirely, but with shooting now underway and The Wolverine 3 set to hit theatres on March 3rd, 2017, hopefully it won’t be too long before we find out.
