After a tumultuous development period, Tim Miller’s Deadpool feature has finally entered production this week. How do we know? Because one of the film’s leading actors posted the first official set photo to her Twitter (via Collider).
Morena Baccarin, fresh off a stint on Gotham, took to social media today and dropped a quick snap of her production chair. Check it out below:

As you can see, the above image isn’t exactly visually adventurous, but it supplies one key detail over which fans have been agonizing over. When Baccarin’s involvement was announced back in February, her character was only referred to as a love interest. With the actress signed on to co-star opposite leading man Ryan Reynolds, that leading lady role became somewhat of a mystery. Many fans assumed she would likely wind up playing one of Deadpool’s comic book paramours such as Vanessa Carlysle – which now appears to be the case.
Her origin story pits her as a mutant shapeshifter dubbed Copycat who bumps into Deadpool prior to his cancer diagnosis. From what little we know of the movie, Reynolds’ assassin will enter treatment to wipe out his cancer. However, things go awry and leave him scarred and in possession of superpowers. So with that in mind, how exactly will Miss Carlysle appear in Miller’s movie? Only time will tell.
Deadpool opens February 12th, 2016. Gina Carano, T.J. Miller and Ed Skrein co-star.
