As production continues on Deadpool in Vancouver, the film’s marketing team are stepping up their efforts on social media. While we saw leading man Ryan Reynolds kitted out as Deadpool some time ago in that batch of leaked test footage, there’s been a scarcity of official stills for his onscreen comrades. Thanks to Reynolds’ prolific Twitter activity, however the first shot of latest cast member Brianna Hildebrand has arrived.

Announced a couple of weeks back, Hildebrand joins the comic book adaptation as Negasonic Teenage Warhead aka Ellie Phimster. The mutant first appeared during the Grant Morrison era of Amazing X-Men in which she was introduced as a youngster with precognitive and telepathic abilities. On the basis of this image, it appears that the moody teenager isn’t bowled over by Deadpool’s snarky behavior, which will likely translate to comedy gold when it plays out onscreen.
Turning from a newcomer to a returning favorite, a batch of images showcasing a familiar character in X-Men lore mark the return of Colossus! Previously played by Daniel Cudmore in the X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the actor stated that he won’t reprise the role in Deadpool. Taking a glimpse at the new onset snaps below (which come from an extensive gallery over at Just Jared) backs up his point, as a new actor can be spotted towering above Reynolds fully decked out in a mo-cap suit. It’s unknown whether that’s a stunt performer or someone who’s likely to shoot scenes without the help of motion capture. Either way, the presence of the behemoth mutant alongside the limber Deadpool should make for some dynamic fight sequences.
The showdown between the pair will be revealed when Deadpool opens in theaters on February 12, 2016. Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein and T.J. Miller co-star.
