Tim Miller Originally Hoped For Negasonic Teenage Warhead To Be The Villain Of Deadpool 2

Brianna Hildebrand has revealed that Tim Miller once mapped out plans for Negasonic Teenage Warhead to be the villain of Deadpool 2.

“Negasonic Teenage–WHAT THE SHIT?! That’s the coolest name ever.”

Be that as it may, it turns out Negasonic Teenage Warhead was initially earmarked to be Deadpool 2‘s chief villain, long before the Fox sequel changed hands and David Leitch, co-director of John Wick and the creative mind behind Atomic Blonde, took charge at the helm.

Back in May, Brianna Hildebrand, the actor responsible for Negasonic Teenage Warhead (real name: Ellie Phimister), revealed this juicy little tidbit while appearing at MCM London Comic Con, where she spoke to Red Carpet News TV (h/t ComicBook.com) about how her adolescent anti-hero almost walked down a very different path during Deadpool 2.

I feel like every time I wish for something specific, maybe it doesn’t happen, or the opposite happens. I know that we switched directors for the second film, but I remember after the first film was over, Tim was like, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if your character was a villain next time?’ And I was like, ‘That would be sick, yeah, sure, why not?’ And that’s definitely not the way that it went [laughs].

Ultimately, Leitch and his team settled on Nathan Summers, the time-traveling bandit better know as Cable. He wasn’t the only headline-worthy addition to the Deadpool roster, of course, what with Domino (Zazie Beetz) and a whole host of X-Force wannabees in tow.

Those figures are expected to feature quite prominently in the Super Duper Cut of Deadpool 2. It’s officially a thing that exists, according to Ryan Reynolds, and will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD from August 21st – two weeks after its debut on digital (pre-order here). Those in attendance at SDCC this weekend can also clock eyes on the sequel’s uncut version.
