New Black Panther Trailer Coming On January 8th

With Thor: Ragnarok now in everyone's rearview mirror, Black Panther is beginning to establish itself as the must-see superhero movie of 2018 – alongside Infinity War, of course. Pegged to arrive in February – just three short months before the advent of Joe and Anthony Russo's aforementioned blockbuster – the standalone pic is a truly star-studded affair, and it'll be anchored by Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa, the man who would be king.

From what we understand, Black Panther largely revolves around a massive power struggle that grips Wakanda. It’s the fictional African nation on which T’Challa’s legacy is built, and it just so happens to be home to a rich mine of Vibranium. That’ll likely play into the story of Infinity War, too, given that the sequel’s initial teaser showed Black Panther, Blonde Black Widow, Bucky Barnes and a bearded Cap charging into battle against a wave of four-armed alien foes.

But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, as up first we’ve got Ryan Coogler’s spinoff, which continues to be one of the most exciting and fresh films on Marvel’s calling card. And now, with its release quickly approaching, it sounds like we’re about to get one last look at it, as the studio will be debuting a final preview during the National Championship Game on ESPN on Monday, January 8th at 8:30pm EST.

It’s unclear if this will be a full trailer or just some kind of special sneak peek, but there’s sure to be new footage included in it and it’ll definitely be something exciting, as Marvel’s now in the final push of their marketing campaign – and what a campaign it’s been so far.

Pitched as a “big, operatic family drama,” Black Panther will finally make its debut on February 16th and we’ll be sure to have that new footage for you next week as soon as it debuts, so stay tuned!
