Director Robert Schwentke may not be returning for 2017’s Ascendant, but before he parts ways with The Divergent Series in earnest, there’s still next month’s hotly-anticipated threequel, Allegiant.

Perhaps in an effort to smooth over the cracks of Schwentke’s exit, Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have showcased a slew of character posters for the next chapter in the dystopian franchise, spotlighting the key players in anticipation of the film’ arrival.

Among the band of survivors are Shailene Woodley and Theo James, who will take up arms once again as Tris and Four in only a few weeks’ time. In their search for the elusive Bureau of Genetic Welfare, both characters and their fellow freedom fighters venture beyond the towering walls of post-apocalyptic Chicago, and the film’s most recent trailer showcased that there’s nine kinds of dangers lurking in the scorched desert.

Joining Woodley and James for the penultimate chapter are Kate Winslet, Ashley Judd, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Tony Goldwyn, Ansel Elgort, and Mekhi Phife.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant will make its bow on March 18, before Ascendant closes the book when it arrives a little more than a year later on March 24, 2017 – without Robert Schwentke at the helm, of course.

After the earth-shattering revelations of INSURGENT, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
