New Deadpool 2 Image Gives Us A Better Look At Domino

Though the pic has kept pretty quiet up until this point, choosing to skip Comic-Con the other week despite most of the other high-profile superhero movies making an appearance, it seems like the lid is starting to be pulled back on Deadpool 2. Earlier today, we finally got our first look at Zazie Beetz in the role of Domino and now, we've received yet another photo of the actress in character.

Though the pic has kept pretty quiet up until this point, choosing to skip Comic-Con the other week despite most of the other high-profile superhero movies making an appearance, it seems like the lid is starting to be pulled back on Deadpool 2. Earlier today, we finally got our first look at Zazie Beetz in the role of Domino and now, we’ve received yet another photo of the actress in character.

Otherwise known as Neena Thurman, Domino’s a skilled marksman and sniper who’s one of two high-profile additions to Deadpool 2 – the other being Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War) as Cable – David Leitch’s sequel that’s expected to blast its way into theaters next summer. Sandwiched between New Mutants (April 13th) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 2nd), 2018 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Fox’s superhero franchise, and the Merc’s sophomore outing will no doubt serve as a welcome tonic amidst two heady, overly dramatic blockbusters.

After all, when it comes to rib-tickling and often edgy humor, few cinematic anti-heroes hold a candle to Ryan Reynolds’ titular motor-mouth. And by all accounts, the casting of Zazie Beetz as Domino will only help bring the absolute worst out of Wade Wilson, which can only spell good news for fans of Deadpool‘s irreverent style.

That being said, the photo we got earlier this morning received quite a bit of backlash, with many fans calling out the character’s costume and overall look. This pic (seen in the gallery above, along with the other one), while a different pose and background, probably won’t do much to change the general consensus, but it does at least give us a bit of a better idea of how Domino will appear in the sequel.

Deadpool 2 shoots for theaters on June 1st, 2018, and when it does, it’ll seemingly carve out more room for Colossus. Russian actor Stefan Kapicic is back in the voice booth to portray the towering mutant, joining a list of returnees that includes T.J. Miller (Weasel), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), and Morena Baccarin (Vanessa).
