As you can see, the new getup isn’t an exact replica of any of Steve Rogers’ outfits, with Barrett explaining in the caption that he’d “love to see Bucky have a Stark Tech suit!” In the replies are a variety of responses to the idea, with some being all for it, while others suggest that Sam Wilson should instead be the next Cap.

Though it’s yet to be officially confirmed that Chris Evans will be hanging up the shield after Endgame, the signs certainly seem to indicate that this is the case. For one thing, the star’s contract is expected to end with his next film, and while director Joe Russo muddied the waters back in November with his claim that “he’s not done yet,” reports have since suggested that the Avengers: Infinity War helmsman may have actually been hinting at the possibility of Evans directing some Disney Plus shows.

As for Bucky, though Sebastian Stan’s character met a sad end at the climax of Infinity War, it’s since been reported that the Winter Soldier will return for his own TV show opposite Falcon. Whether either of the pair might inherit the Captain America title remains to be seen, but our answer may well come when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
