An ad on ESPN, which you can view above, has confirmed earlier reports that Marvel will be releasing a brand new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tomorrow night. It’ll air on ABC during the ACC Championship game, which begins at 8pm, and will likely find its way online shortly after.
While it’s a bit odd that the studio is choosing to release something this big – a new trailer for what’s arguably one of their most anticipated upcoming films – on a Saturday night, we’re certainly excited to see what they’ve cooked up. After all, that first teaser we got was a tantalizing but all too brief glimpse at the sequel, and ever since director James Gunn promised that we’d get a more complete look before the end of the year, we’ve been eagerly awaiting it.
Though it may be a bit longer than what we previously saw, don’t expect this new preview to reveal too much, as Gunn recently stated that for the marketing campaign on Guardians 2, they’re going to be holding back most of the plot details – which is fine by us. Marvel’s had a habit in the past of spoiling too much with their trailers, so it’s nice to see that they won’t be making that same mistake again.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be with us on May 5th, 2017. As soon as that new trailer’s available on the web, we’ll be sure to post it here on We Got This Covered – so stay tuned!
