In case you need a refresher on what to expect from the movie, here’s the recently released new synopsis which accompanied that special trailer shown during the Olympics.

In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

There’s been a lot of potentially quite worrying behind the scenes rumours about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, many of which sound pretty similar to what we’ve since heard about Fantastic Four and Suicide Squad. Whether or not this movie is going to end up being received the same way they were obviously remains to be seen, but we’ll remain cautiously optimistic.

The cast of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story includes Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed, among others, and it’s currently set to be released on December 16th, later this year.
