From his big guns to the even bigger guns on his arms, Cable is, essentially, the Arnold Schwarzenegger of the X-Men universe. You screw with him, and he’ll destroy you without a second thought. He has zero chill and no time for nonsense. And this is what will make his dynamic with Deadpool even more intriguing, since Wade is renowned for his constant B.S. It’s that same dynamic which is said to play a big role in the sequel and while we’ll likely have to wait for some footage to see it in action, these photos are definitely helping to whet our appetite.

As for this latest shot, it’s yet another close-up of Brolin in character, and though it doesn’t tell us anything at all about the plot of the film or provide any hints as to what we can expect – unlike the last one – it’s nice to get another look at Cable regardless. Especially since everyone’s so excited to see him make his big screen debut. Besides, with all these photos now making their way onto the web, we imagine it’s just a matter of time before we get the first proper teaser trailer for the hugely anticipated sequel.

Deadpool 2 is currently booked in for release on June 1st, 2018. Last time the Merc With a Mouth stormed theaters, his film managed to rack up an eye-watering $783 million worldwide thanks to its lasting appeal and lean, irreverent script. If David Leitch and Co. are to emulate that success story, they’ll need to pull out all the stops. But thanks to the Domino/Cable double act, we’re quietly confident that the pic will be able to deliver the goods.
