New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer Leaks From Star Wars Celebration

This trailer has been removed at the request of the studio. We’ll update this post when an official version is released.

Much to the surprise of no one, it appears that the new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the very same one that was showcased behind-closed-doors at Star Wars Celebration Europe, has leaked online.

Remember, it’s a bootleg, so expect a fairly shaky experience. Nevertheless, it certainly chimes with last week’s trailer description, culminating in the reveal of Darth Vader. Well, we say reveal; James Earl Jones’ scenery-chewing big bad is glimpsed in a reflection of what we assume to be the shiny floor of the Death Star itself. But make no mistake, that iconic, rasping breathing apparatus can be heard loud and clear.

It’s impossible to offer a fair assessment of this low-res version, of course, but it does include all-new footage of Jyn Erso as a youngster, growing up under the shadow of an Empire that’s fast approaching the height of its power. Felicity Jones is the actress that will take point as our newfound heroine, spearheading a plan to snag blueprints for the Death Star alongside Diego Luna, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed and Alan Tudyk’s droid K-2SO,

Darth Vader may loom large over proceedings, but there’s also Ben Mendelsohn’s regal Imperial leader Orson Krennic to contend with – not to mention that glorious cape. Mads Mikkelsen and Genevieve O’Reilly also star as Galen Erso and Mon Mothma, respectively.

In related Rogue One news, evidence continues to mount that Disney’s first Anthology film will forgo the opening crawl, while there’s also word of two fairly secretive cameos buried in Edwards’ prequel. Look for it to zoom into theaters on December 16.
