We’re quickly approaching the release of Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi. We know, it’s hard to believe, especially since we’ve still seen so little of the film. But it’s true, the next chapter in the iconic saga will be with us in December and as the winter draws closer, Disney is starting to peel back the lid on the hugely anticipated blockbuster, one which is said to be quite different from The Force Awakens.
In fact, earlier today at the ongoing D23 in Anaheim, California, the studio unveiled a brand new behind the scenes featurette for The Last Jedi. Admittedly, it didn’t bring us much in the way of fresh footage, but it was most definitely a tantalizing tease of what’s to come, featuring interviews with the case and crew and some neat looks at what went down on set during the production.
Now, to keep the momentum going, Disney have pumped out three new character posters, though don’t expect to take much away from them in terms of plot details. As you can see in the gallery below, we’ve got one-sheets for Leia, Rey and Finn, with the running theme being the color red. What significance that holds we can’t say for sure, and it very well could mean nothing at all, but already speculation is beginning to spread across the web.
Said to balance the “familiar with the unfamiliar” and lay down a new series of rules for this most precious of cinematic universes, Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been penciled in for release on December 15th. It’ll be followed in relatively quick succession by Ron Howard’s Han Solo spinoff before Colin Trevorrow brings the curtain down on Disney’s rebooted trilogy with the release of Episode IX in May of 2019.
