Pennywise the Clown has been cordially invited to this Sunday’s MTV Awards ceremony, and that can only mean one thing: a new and surely terrifying promo for Andy Muschietti’s It reboot.

Bearing the tentative title It Part 1 – The Losers Club, New Line summoned forth our first look at the horror redo in motion back in March, when the eerie reveal trailer – “we all float down here…” – notched up almost 200 million views in the space of 24 hours. That’s an impressive feat by anyone’s standards, and thanks to Instagram (via Screen Rant), we now know when to expect Pennywise’s next appearance. Spoilers: it’s sooner than you may think.

Hemlock Grove star Bill Skarsgård is attached to the part of the otherworldly demon, and that aforementioned trailer served as a chilling reminder that Andy Muschietti is set to resurrect Stephen King’s oddity in a way that ought to terrify those horror fans tired of hackneyed CGI tricks.

As for the kids, we know that Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard plays Richie Tozier, who oversees a Losers Club comprised of Bill Denbrough (Jaeden Lieberher), Ben Hanscom (Jeremy Ray Taylor), Stan Uris (Wyatt Oleff), Mike Hanlon (Chosen Jacobs), Eddie Kaspbrak (Jack Dylan Grazer) and Beverly Marsh (Sophia Lillis).

Whereas Stephen King’s beloved source material consolidated the two timelines into a single book, New Line is aiming to stretch the Pennywise saga over the course of two movies, with the second, conclusive chapter set to revisit the Losers Club some 30 years after their first encounter with Skarsgård’s demonic entity.

With The Dark Tower slated for August, It Part 1 – The Losers Club will keep the Stephen King train trucking along nicely when Andy Muschietti’s horror redo claws its way into theaters on September 8th. Check back to WGTC on Sunday, May 7th, when we’ll have full coverage of that promo for you to sink your teeth into.
