If last week’s official first look at Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman movie proved anything, it’s that the Amazons aren’t to be trifled with.

Hailing from the fictional isle of Themyscira, it is Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince that heads up a tight-knit band of warriors, flanked by Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), General Antiope (Robin Wright) and Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli). But the decadent demigods aren’t the only ones to walk the beaches of Paradise Island, with new set photos for Jenkins’ feature teeing up a conflict between the Amazons and a band of WWI soldiers.

Among that wayward regiment is Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor, who will go on to become a love interest to Gadot’s Diana Prince. Arriving via Daily Mail, the outlet notes that today’s batch of stills were taken on location in Italy, which will be doubling as Themyscira until late April. Earlier this year, Warner Bros.’ 2017 tentpole had shot scenes across France and England.

Outside of the soldiers and Amazons on horseback, there’s also a shot of Pine’s Steve Trevor washed up on the sun-kissed beach, which surely stands as the first meeting between Trevor and Gadot’s elegant Wonder Woman. Also on board for the superhero action are Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and David Thewlis. Outside of Davis playing the role of Etta Candy, details on the film’s extended cast remain thin on the ground.

Filming continues apace on Wonder Woman‘s Italy set, as Patty Jenkins’ standalone feature preps to grace theaters on June 23, 2017.
