New York Is Thrown Into Chaos In Comic-Con Trailer For Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

After showing it off to those lucky enough to be in Hall H at this year’s Comic-Con, Warner Bros. has released the brand new trailer for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. This one really puts an emphasis on both the action and magical creatures in the movie, though we also get a much better look at the villain (at least it seems that way) played by Colin Farrell.

In the movie, Eddie Redmayne stars as wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter outings. The screenplay, meanwhile, was penned by the author of the Harry Potter novels, J.K. Rowling, and her involvement definitely makes this movie feel more exciting than it otherwise might have.

According to the synopsis released by the studio, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove and Colin Farrell, and it’s currently set to be released worldwide on November 18, 2016.
