According to Deadline, Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon is set to join Robert Luketic’s upcoming film Paranoia, which is based on the Joseph Finder novel of the same name. He’ll play the role of Meechum, though no other details were given on the character.
Already cast in the film are Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford and Amber Heard. For those unfamiliar with the plot, it centers on “a boss who blackmails his young employee to spy on a rival company.”
Though McMahon hasn’t really done anything notable aside from Nip/Tuck, I do still think he’s an excellent actor. I’m a very big fan of FX’s twisted show and I thought McMahon was fantastic in it as the loathsome Dr. Christian Troy.
Paranoia is assembling an exciting cast and though I’m not expecting much more than a fairly average run of the mill spy thriller, I’m still looking forward to seeing it.
