Entertainment Weekly has been given the first real look at Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus. Though some photos were released months back, this gives us our first look at the actors in costume and and a look at the universe that the film will take place in.

Unfortunately these images are just scanned copies, but they do look rather intriguing. The photos have a very dark mis en scene feel to them, which is signature to many of Scott’s sci-fi films.

For those unfamiliar with the movie, it follows “a team of explorers who discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe”.

These photos give us a look at several of the cast members including Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, and the unseen, but stated in the caption, Kate Dickie. It’s not much to go on but for a film shrouded in so much secrecy, it’s a welcome sight.

Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Ben Foster, Patrick Wilson, Kate Dickie, Sean Harris and Rafe Spall, and will be in theatres on June 8th, 2012.
