A Twitter user by the name of Stitch Kingdom has uncovered what appears to be the official cast list for Marvel Studios’ imminent sequel, and it strongly hints that Michael Cerveris, star of Gotham and The Good Wife, will make an appearance as Elihas Starr, otherwise known as Egghead, one of Ant-Man’s oldest and most formidable foes.

If true, it would be a clever bait-and-switch from Marvel and writer-director Peyton Reed, given Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s ongoing marketing blitz continues to place the emphasis on Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost, an elusive figure who was able to escape the Quantum Realm just as Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne began sending out the feelers in search of the original Wasp. And so begins a huge Marvel rescue mission, though if Stitch Kingdom’s findings hold true, then Scott Lang will be coming up against Egghead at some point in the sequel.

Also of note, this alleged cast list indicates that Ant-Man and the Wasp has carved out room for a series of flashbacks – specifically flashbacks to the early years of Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne and Bill Foster, who was once known as Goliath, another Marvel Comics figure.

That tells us Laurence Fishburne may enjoy more screentime in Ant-Man and the Wasp than we’ve been led to believe, but this is all hearsay for now, as the sequel is yet to screen for critics.

With its blistering first clip and candid behind-the-scenes photos, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp is already making serious waves in anticipation of its debut on July 6th, so it’ll be interesting to gauge how the sequel performs on its opening weekend. $75 million is the current estimate.
