The British Board of Film Classification’s website has just confirmed that the pic will run for a whopping 2 hours, 49 minutes and 11 seconds. That’s considerably longer than the first installment of the horror classic’s remake, which ran for about 2 hours and 15 minutes. And yes, that’s also a LOT of clowns. That eleven seconds just might do some of you in.

The upcoming sequel’s runtime was announced once before as 2 hours, 45 minutes, but the very first cut of the movie was apparently a whopping 4 hours long. Seeing how Chapter Two‘s release date is so close now, this time the numbers should stick and we have no reason to doubt the BBFC.

Hopefully we’ll get a director’s cut with the DVD and Blu-ray releases, too. Having over six hours of footage from one of the highest grossing horror movies of all-time sounds like one hell of a party. Although, if you’ve read the 1,100 page book, then you know just how twisted the story gets. In fact, I’m not completely sure I would want to see some of King’s more…imaginative scenes brought to life.

In any case, the second part of this saga will see our Losers’ Club reunite 27 years later in Derry to finally defeat Pennywise. Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy will star as Beverly and Bill, respectively, along with a ton of other exciting names (including the return of the young cast from the first film).

Be sure to wear your brown pants when It: Chapter Two hits theaters on September 6th.
