Hugh Jackman‘s next portrayal of Wolverine is currently filming in Australia, but we’ve yet to hear much in the way of official news about the plot. That changed today though as Comic Book Movie posted the first official synopsis for James Mangold’s The Wolverine.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
That ominous synopsis isn’t very revealing, and everything it says could have been inferred through the casting and other news that has leaked, but it’s still good to see something official about the plot.
We also recently learned the film would feel different from the other X-Men films, which is great news for many fans who have been overall rather disappointed with the way the past films were made.
Personally, I think Jackman is perfect as Wolverine and this upcoming film will surely help the franchise to bounce back from the letdown of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The Wolverine will hit theaters July 26th, 2013.
