The barrage of casting news for Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming continues today, with reports coming in that Orange is the New Black star Selenis Leyva will have a role in the upcoming reboot. She’ll be playing one of Peter’s high school teachers, meaning she probably won’t have a very large part.
The actress joins a cast that now boasts Tom Holland in the lead role alongside Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Zandaya, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green, Kenneth Choi and Tony Revolori, among others. In addition to Leyva, the film also picked up three relative newcomers and stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress this week as well. Suffice to say, it’s been a busy couple of days for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Now, with the web-slinger’s solo outing finally heading in front of cameras, it’s only going to get busier for the cast and crew. And that means we should start seeing a lot more from the film over the coming months. Plot summaries, set photos, maybe even an official image or two – it should all start rolling in shortly.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theatres on July 7th, 2017. While you wait for more from the movie to hit the web, why not check out the most recent batch of set photos?
