One of the most acclaimed independent releases in 2010 was the tense, Ryan Reynolds-starring Buried, from director Rodrigo Cortés. Now, the director is getting ready to release his sophomore effort Red Lights, which has just debuted four eerie character posters.

Red Lights stars Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, Cillian Murphy and critical darling Elizabeth Olsen. The film, having debuted at this year’s Sundance, makes this the second straight year a movie of Olsen’s has premiered at the film festival, following her acclaimed role in Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Set for a release on July 13th, this supernatural thriller follows a paranormal investigator (Weaver) and her assistant (Murphy) as they seek out a renowned psychic (De Niro) who has resurfaced years after a detractor of his mysteriously died. It’s not clear exactly what role Olsen will inhabit or how much screen time she will have, but I’m sure all of it will be welcome nevertheless.

Early word from Sundance was mixed to positive, with many critics citing the ending as being a tad too preposterous (the bane of many a horror flick). There is still no official word on if Red Lights will score a wide or limited release, but considering the film on cast alone, it is certainly a project worth keeping an eye on.

What do you think? Do these posters pique your interest?
