The Northern Irish actor and filmmaker is also calling the shots from behind the lens as director – fitting, given Branagh first pledged his support to 20th Century Fox’s star-studded remake years in advance – and will assume the lead role of Hercule Poirot, a detective who books his seat on board the Orient Express in its meandering journey through Europe.

What begins as a decadent experience aboard Europe’s premier rail service soon devolves into utter chaos, after Poirot uncovers a dead body within one of the vessel’s many carriages. It’s enough to spawn a full-blown murder investigation while in transit, and the fact that the Orient Express grinds to a halt in the face of a relentless snowstorm only exacerbates an already nerve-shredding predicament. Everyone is a suspect, it seems (perhaps even Poirot himself?), and we know that Fox’s reimagining of the Agatha Christie classic has drafted in the likes of Dead Men Tell No Tales star Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley (The Last Jedi), Michelle Pfeiffer, Penelope Cruz, Josh Gad, Judi Dench, Michael Pena, Leslie Odom, Lucy Boynton and many, many more.

Murder on the Orient Express is currently hurtling down the tracks toward its theatrical release on November 10th. Check back to We Got This Covered tomorrow, June 1st, when we’ll have a full rundown of that first trailer.

What starts out as a lavish train ride through Europe quickly unfolds into one of the most stylish, suspenseful and thrilling mysteries ever told. From the novel by best-selling author Agatha Christie, “Murder on the Orient Express” tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect. One man must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again.
