One of the worst adaptations of anything there’s ever been butchers beloved source material on streaming

No, seriously, there's not a word of hyperbole to be found.

It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so tragically misguided to an almost moronic extent, but if you can believe it, Justin Chadwick signed a three-picture deal when he agreed to star as Goku in the ill-fated Dragonball Evolution.

To call that ambition to the point of folly would be understating things massively, when you could state an excellent argument against director James Wong’s feature-length reimagining of the beloved franchise as one of the worst adaptations of anything there’s ever been across all forms of media, with no shortage of evidence to back it up.

Fans of the source material detested it with a passion, as did critics and audiences based on Rotten Tomatoes approval ratings of 15 and 20 percent from either parties, while writer Ben Ramsey was open and honest enough to describe the end result of his own work as “flat-out garbage,” but at least people saw sense to not buy a ticket and allow Dragonball Evolution to suffer the painful box office demise it well and truly deserved.

However, proving that nothing really is off the table when it comes to abhorrent affronts to the good name of cinema being given a second chance on-demand, the infamous disaster has inexplicably been riding a renewed wave of momentum. Per FlixPatrol, the unforgivable offense against its own inspiration has resurfaced on the iTunes global charts, so let’s all just bury our heads in the sands and pretend it’s nothing more than an aberration before questions get asked over who the hell is putting themselves through Dragonball Evolution.
