Over the years, Vin Diesel has made clear one thing he and his Fast & Furious 9 character, Dom Toretto, have in common. They don’t have friends, they have family. After Paul Walker’s untimely demise, his two brothers, Caleb and Cody, stepped in to help Furious 7 to finish filming. Now, a recent visit by Cody to the set of the upcoming movie has fans wondering if Brian O’Connor could make his return to the franchise next year.

Diesel posted a pic of him and his late co-star’s brother on his Instagram, and the rumor wheel has now started turning. Check it out down below, along with the caption he wrote:

“There is something special that happens every time Cody comes to visit production…. Always making Pablo proud! All love, always. #Fast92020 #Fatherhood #FastFamily”

So far, we only know that it was just a visit, and not to film anything. The F&F franchise hasn’t ever been one to shy away from surprises though, so at least a brief glimpse of Brian could be coming.

In any case, we already know that one familiar face is returning this time around: Jordana Brewster is back to play Mia, his wife and mother of his son. Even if all we see is another shot of them riding off into the sunset one more time together, it’d be awesome.

But if not, there’s still much to look forward to, as a few more exciting talents are being added to the roster in the form of John Cena and Michael Rooker, in two as yet unknown roles. Joining them, meanwhile, are two ass-kickers of the feminine persuasion. Yes, as you may already know, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren will star as Cipher and Magdalene Shaw, respectively. And then, of course, there’s all the original cast members as well, like Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and more.

With such a stacked line-up already then, would bringing back Paul Walker’s Brian be a good idea? Let us know what you think by dropping a comment down below and stay tuned for more as Fast & Furious 9 speeds towards its May 22nd, 2020 release date.
