One of the fall’s biggest movies is undoubtedly going to be The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, the third entry in Lionsgate’s franchise juggernaut, in which Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) reluctantly becomes the face of a rebellion against the totalitarian Capitol in a dystopian future society. In the clip, which aired on Good Morning America, Katniss catches a glimpse of her close friend-turned-lover Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), whose fate was left uncertain after he was captured by the Capitol following the explosive end of Catching Fire. It’s not a particularly thrilling scene, though Lawrence’s emotive acting in it does provide a handy reminder of just how well-made and terrifically acted these films have been so far.

There’s no reason to expect that Mockingjay – Part 1 will be any different in that respect, given all the talented stars, both new and old, who will show up on screen. In addition to Lawrence, Hutcherson and Sutherland, the threequel stars Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Natalie Dormer, Sam Claflin, Robert Knepper, Jena Malone, Willow Shields, Meta Golding, Gwendoline Christie, Stef Dawson and Patina Miller.

Francis Lawrence again directed this entry, a very good sign given what strong work he did on Catching Fire. We’ll find out for certain whether or not Mockingjay – Part 1 does right by its predecessors when it opens on November 21st. In the meantime, however, you can look through some new images from the film below.

Katniss Everdeen finds herself in District 13 after she literally shatters the Games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage.
