Peter Parker Goes Green In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Featurettes

Excited about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, are we? Naturally. Not only did Marc Webb helm a fantastic first entry in the (soon-to-be) franchise, but recent images and action-packed trailers have certainly enticed fans such as myself. Today, Sony has dropped two featurettes that not only expand upon the film's production, but also shed some light into several plot points and reveal a very special cameo. Needless to say, the following videos are riddled with minor spoilers.

Excited about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, are we? Naturally. Not only did Marc Webb helm a fantastic first entry in the (soon-to-be) franchise, but recent images and action-packed trailers have certainly enticed fans such as myself. Today, Sony has dropped two featurettes that not only expand upon the film’s production, but also shed some light into several plot points and reveal a very special cameo. Needless to say, the following videos are riddled with minor spoilers.

The first featurette – Sustainability – shows the green initiative that took place during principal photography. Several people who were involved in the film’s production give their take on the eco-friendly environment that surrounded the set. It may not be of interest to everyone, but it’s definitely worth a watch if you’re a Spidey fan.

The second one – The Price of Being a Hero – delves further into Peter Parker’s (Andrew Garfield) struggle in the upcoming film. As he finally starts to feel the weight of great responsibility on his shoulders and his relationship with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) deepens, Spider-Man finds it harder to lead a double life. The malicious Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Rhino (Paul Giamatti) certainly complicate things as they ravage New York City, and the eponymous hero is ultimately torn between saving the day or his love life. Out of the two featurettes, this one is more prone to reveal spoilers. You have been warned.

I have blind faith in Marc Webb’s talent at this point and I’m fairly confident that this film will please fans and critics alike. Garfield is amazing in the role – at least, he’s helped us get over Tobey Maguire’s ghastly performance in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 – and Webb has assembled a formidable cast for the sequel. All things are pointing to success for this one and I can’t wait to see how it plays out.
