Pitting the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ trilogy against Christopher Nolan’s DC trio leads to all-out conflict

Which is the best superhero trilogy?

The Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy may be the most-talked-about superhero series as of late, but DC fans have a bone to pick with Marvel fans when it came to the best movie three-parter, claiming that there is one that stands above all else.

DC fans reminded everyone on social media that Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy exists and is considered “peak cinema” compared to Guardians of the Galaxy. DC fans argued that these films “changed the landscape of comic book movies.” As expected, this didn’t sit well with those who preferred Gunn’s Marvel trilogy.

However, Marvel fans called out DC for “being stuck in the past,” saying that times have changed. Also, Marvel Studios has released a handful of trilogies that could compete with The Dark Knight, not just Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Some also claimed that Gunn’s trilogy had viewers getting emotional, something that The Dark Knight couldn’t achieve, in their view.

To be completely fair, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Dark Knight trilogies both received similar reception from both fans and critics. Both range between an average score of 80-90 percent. Both had some emotional gravitas and strong narratives to bring to each installment. Not to mention, the final chapter in each of these films showcased how these characters moved on with their lives.

Both are on equal levels in storytelling and it’s up to fans to decide which is best because, in the end, there is no clear winner.
