Having just premiered to amazing reviews at the Cannes film festival, we now have the first poster for Andrew Dominik‘s Killing Them Softly. The film, which is based on the crime novel Cogan’s Trade by George V. Higgins, follows “Jackie Cogan, a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that went down during a mob-protected poker game.”

The poster has a real 70’s feel to it and it really seems to suit what we know about the film. Besides a small clip and a few photos, not a great deal has been seen from Killing Them Softly but this first teaser poster does set the right tone.

Killing Them Softly is Australian director Andrew Dominik‘s first film since 2007’s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford , which also starred Brad Pitt.

Killing Them Softly will be released on September 21st, 2012 and it stars Pitt alongside an A-List supporting cast which includes James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn and Richard Jenkins.
