Today we have for you the first poster from Jay Anaia‘s next film The Letter, which stars James Franco and Winona Ryder. Originally titled The Stare, the film will mark the second time Franco has worked with Anania. The director taught Franco at NYU and directed him in William Vincent.

For those unfamiliar with the plot summary, check it out below.

“A playwright named Martine (Ryder), who begins to mentally unravel before premiere night. She is plagued by dreams and visions of being watched, but cannot decide if she is at the center of a manipulative plot or simply losing her grip on reality.”

The film seems to have a very Black Swan type feel and I really like the idea behind it. Franco and Ryder are both fantastic actors and Anania is a very interesting director both from a visual and storytelling standpoint. He hasn’t really done anything mainstream but from what I’ve seen of his work, Im definitely intrigued.

The Letter is expected to be released later this year.

Check out the poster below.
